American chain Quiznos opens the first restaurants in Russia

At the end of July two Quiznos Sub restaurants have been opened at once in Saint Petersburg: in 136, Engelsa prospect and in 2, Moskovsky prospect. ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, the project consultant, has served as a broker for premises lease.

The international premium class chain of fast-food restaurants Quiznos announced its plans to enter the Russian market in 2012. QSR Russia Ltd, the international management company and master-franchisee, owns a right to develop the restaurant chain in Russia. The company is planning to open 20 restaurants in Saint Petersburg before the end of 2014. The operator will be developing within the format of three directions: in-built space with the area of up to 150 sq. m in the liquid locations, food-courts in popular shopping centres, large business quarters. Within the following decade QSR Russia Ltd will expand its chain to comprise up to 500 restaurants all around Russia by means of sub-franchising. The cities with population over one million citizens, such as cities of Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Omsk, Saratov, etc. - will be of top priority in the development strategy of the chain.

Quiznos has already achieved agreements with the local manufacturers and suppliers, who are to become the potential sellers of the majority of products. Original recipes of the American chain chef and regular audit will allow maintaining the high quality of supply.

"Today the public catering segment is one of the most advanced segments on the commercial real estate market of Saint Petersburg in terms of development dynamics. Since the beginning of 2013 the ASTERA brokers have closed over 20 transactions with the Russian and international public catering operators for the total area of approximately 4,000 sq. m in Saint Petersburg only," - Lyudmila Reva says, the Director at ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Among the regular customers of ASTERA there are tens of popular and actively developing brands, such as Jan-Jak, Subway, McDonalds, Carl’s Junior, Dve palochki, Bushe, Coffeeshop Company, Coffee-House, Teremok, Tchajnaya lozhka, Penabar, Pizza Ollis and many others.
