Two new Ulmart cybermarkets will be opened in Saint Petersburg with ASTERA Assistance

Ulmart retail chain will open two new cybermarkets in Saint Petersburg on Ispitateley pr. and Nauki pr. till the end of August. ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, has rendered services on premise selection.

A new Ulmart cybermarket will be opened in RC “Miller Center” on July, 28. It will occupy 1 500 sq.m on the second floor of a shopping center in Primorsky district. A second cybermarket on 10, Nauki Pr. with an area of 1 400 sq.m will be put into operation by the end of August.

Both premises allow realizing the standard format for Ulmart cybermarket: the major part of the premises is used as a big warehouse and is two times bigger than the sales room of only 200-300 sq.m. A small room is used for office functions. Self-service terminals instead of showcases and sales room managers instead of shopping assistants help to reduce operating costs and realize a unique retail format that combines all benefits of both online and offline shops. New cybermarkets are within walking distance of metro stations in dynamically developing districts with high housing density.

Ulmart is an active member of retail market of white goods, laptops, computers and computer accessories in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Krasnodar, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Tver. The first Ulmart cybermarket was opened in 2008. Now there are 15 cybermarkets and more than 70 Ulmart Outposts.

“White goods and electronics operators that before had a wait-and-see policy become active in Q2 2012 and began to realize their plans for active development”, - says Lyudmila Reva, the Director at ASTERA, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate, - “Today this segment leases area mostly in shopping centers as it is rather difficult to find premises in street retail format. Banks, restaurants, food retailers can offer higher rental rates and also have a claim on vacant areas. At the same time owners of shopping centers are ready to position white goods and electronics operators as anchor tenants”.
