23 july 2014With ASTERA participation Georgian cuisine café chain ‘Sulo&Gulo’ opens in St. Petersburg
The first café of the chain will be opened on 44, Marata Street in the beginning of August offering its customers Georgian and European cuisine. ASTERA an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate acted as a consultant in terms of finding premises.
‘Georgian cuisine is one of the healthiest and richest in the world. You will not find such variety of meat dishes, spices and wines in any other country. For our menu we have selected traditional Georgian dishes loved by many Russians and the best dishes of European cuisine. We will offer our customers the freshest and the most nutritious food of Caucasus in addition to well-known Georgian hospitality. The café was called ‘Sulo&Gulo’ meaning ‘with heart and soul’ which is the right way to welcome guests in Georgia’, - says Monika Meporiya, director of OOO ‘Mir Uspeha’ and project’s investor.
Sulo&Gulo café on 44, Marata Street has the area of 130 sq.m and is designed for 50 seats. Expected customer flow amounts to 100 people a day. Average check estimates up to 800 rubles. Investments into the opening of the café account to 3 million rubles.
According to Monika Meporia, the second café under Sulo&Gulo brand is planned to be opened by the end of this year. ‘We would like to have the possibility to evaluate work performance of our first cafe. The second one will be also opened in the center of the city in walking distance from the metro station’, - notes the investor.
‘Georgian cuisine has stable demand in St. Petersburg. Today, about 300 Georgian cuisine restaurants and cafes have been opened in the Northern Capital. However, this public catering segment of the market is growing only due to the love of the Russians to Caucasus dishes. The location of a new facility is well-chosen: distance to the closest metro stations (Vladimirskaya, Dostoevskaya, and Mayakovskaya metro stations) is from 300 to 800 meters. Moreover, Marata Street is very popular among tourists caused by the closeness of the main city sights. In this location rental rates on this kind of premises is within the range from 1800 up to 3000 RUR per sq.m’, - comments Ludmila Reva, director of ASTERA an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
